September the 24th, 1997, master degree in Computer Science Engineering summa cum laude at the University of Rome "La Sapienza".

September the 17th, 1999, engineer professional abilitation granted by Engineers Association of Rome.

May the 11th, 2001, Philosophy Doctor in "Operations Research'' at the University of Rome "La Sapienza'' with final dissertation on "New Methods for Constrained Nonlinear Programming".

From 16 to 25 July 2002, I attended the "Conic and Robust Optimization:  Methodology and Engineering Applications'' course held by Prof. A. Ben-Tal, Technion, Haifa (Israel).

May 2002, I attended the "Numerical Optimization: Algorithms and Software'' course held by Proff. R.J. Vanderbei (Princeton University), D.F. Shanno (Rutgers University), H.Y. Benson (Princeton University). Toronto (Canada).

From April through June 2000, I attended the Continuous Optimization  course at the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti'', University of Rome "La Sapienza''.

August 1998, I attended the III summer course on mathematics titled "Ottimizzazione Lineare e Nonlineare", held by Proff. P.Hansen and D.P.Bertsekas, at the Università Normale Superiore di Pisa (Cortona).

Teaching Activity

A.A. 2009/2010, 2010/2011 I was professor for the Applied Mathematics course at the University of Cassino, Faculty of Engineering.

A.A. 2004/2005, 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 I was professor for the Decision Analysis course at the University of Cassino, Faculty of Engineering.

A.A. 2007/2008 I was professor for the Operations Research course at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Faculty of Engineering.

May 2004 I held ten lectures on the topic Constrained Nonlinear Optimization as part of the  Continuous Optimization course for the Ph.D. in Systems Science Engineering.

May 2002 I held ten lectures on the topic Multiple Objective Optimization as part of the  Continuous Optimization course for the Ph.D. in Systems Science Engineering.

March 2002 I held a short course on the topic AMPL: a matemathical programming language as part of the First course on Management and Logistic at the Italian Army school for Material and Transportation.

Research Activity

From November the 1st, 2000 to April the 30th, 2001 I had a research contract with the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti'' (University of Rome "La sapienza''). In that period I was mainly involved with research and development activity on the topic "Development and testing of new methods and algorithms for the optimal design of permanent magnets devices''.

From April the 18th to July the 31st, 2001 I had a research contract with the National Institution for Matter Physics (Genova) on the topic "Development of an Optimization algorithm'' jointly with the Medicine Faculty of the University of L'Aquila.

From June the 1st to November the 30th,  2001 I was visiting researcher at the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti'' of the University of Rome "La Sapienza''. I was mainly involved with Large-scale constrained optimization and Global optimization.

From November the 1st, 2001 to October the 31st, 2003 I had a three year tenure-track position at the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti'' of the Univeristy of Rome "La Sapienza'' as Researcher on the topic "Development and design of truncated Newton-type methods for the solution of large-scale constrained optimization problems".

From November the 1st, 2003 to October the 31st, 2006 I had an appointment contract as researcher in the FIRB program: Large scale nonlinear optimization at the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti'' of the Univeristy of Rome "La Sapienza''

From November the 1st, 2006 to November the 1st, 2007 I had an appointment contract as researcher in the PRIN program: Problemi e metodi innovativi nell'ottimizzazione nonlineare at the Department of Computer and Systems Science "Antonio Ruberti'' of the Univeristy of Rome "La Sapienza''

From November the 2nd, 2007 to July the 15th, 2010 I was term researcher at the Istituto di Analisi dei Sistemi e Informatica "Antonio Ruberti'', National Research Council.

From July the 16th, 2010 up to date I am researcher at the Istituto di Analisi dei Sistemi e Informatica "Antonio Ruberti'', National Research Council.
