Scheduling models in terminal area management systems.

ABSTRACT

In this paper a brief survey of scheduling models for terminal area management systems is presented. Particular attention ids devoted to the aircraft sequencing problem arising at the merging gate whenever traffic congestion procedures a bottleneck situation. After an overview of the terminal area problem and operation, some significant methodological contributions exploiting Linear and Integer Programming algorithms are synthetically described.
