Biography

Giuseppe Stecca (giuseppe.steccaATiasi.cnr.it) has a master degree in Engineering Management (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, 2000), A Master in Business Administration in Enterprise Engineering (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, 2002), and a Ph.D. in Economics and Management Engineering (University of “Tor Vergata”, 2004).

He is now research Scientist at the Institute for Systems Analysis and Computer Science (CNR-IASI). Giuseppe is visiting full professor in Operations Research in the Graduate School of Systems Informatics, University of Kobe, and contract Professor in Supply Chain Management in the Department of Enterprise Engineering, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Moreover He is contract Professor in Modelli di Sistemi di Produzione (Models of Production Systems) in the Faculty of Sciences and Applied Technologies in The Guglielmo Marcony University, Rome. He had abroad work experiences at IMTI NRC London Ontario, Canada and at Uniersity of Kobe, Japan.

His main research interests are in mathematical modelling and optimization of supply chain and production management systems.

He was responsible of several projects for its Institute such as “premiale” project “Sistema Cloud-based per l’ottimizzazione delle risorse e lo scheduling” (Cloud based system for resource optimization and scheduling), SIGMA (Sensor Integrated System in cloud environment for the Advanced Multi-risk Management). For its institute he is now responsible for the project PRIN “SPORT” Smart Port Terminal Operations, and project MIE - Mobilita’ Intelligente Ecosostenibile (Intelligient and Ecosostenible Mobility). He is responsible for its Institute for the Factories of the Future activities.

He is elected member in the directive committee for the Italian Association on Operations Research (AIRO) and member of the Society of Collaborative Networks SOCOLNET.

He is reviewer of several international journals such ah International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Production Research, European Journal of Operational Research.

He is in the program committee for several conferences such as IEEE SMC, PRO-VE, WSWCD.

He is handling editor for the International Journal on Manufacturing Research. He is associate Editor for the IET Collaborative Intelligent Manufacturing Journal
