Loads of people and a bit of COVID: infection reduction in critical infrastructures With a bit of imagination, let’s assume to have just overcome a pandemic crisis and be willing to protect as many people as possible from further infections. Can we describe crowd movements within massive infrastructures, such as stations? And what about redirecting all these people to reduce the infection risk? This seminar aims first to describe some crowd modeling approaches in a generic environment. Then, methods for crowd management and control will be introduced. Lastly, the Reinforcement Learning framework will be discussed as a potential solution for the behavioral policy design, aiming at protecting people from infections.
